DOES YOUR PERMANENT MAKE UP NEED A REFRESH YET?
Your guide to recognising when you should book in 🫶🏻
There is no exact timeframe as everyone’s skin retains pigment differently due to various factors such as skin condition, any medical conditions, medications, the long term aftercare of your permanent make up and your immune system.Â
Whether your permanent make up is 12 months old or a few years old, here’s what to look for!
Your Permanent make up might be ready for a refresh if:
âś“ The colour has become noticeably lighter
âś“ The shape isn't as defined as it used to be
âś“ The tails of eyebrows have faded
âś“ Some areas look lighter than others
âś“ You're filling your brows in with pencil or powder more oftenÂ
âś“ Your lips seem to have less definition
âś“ You simply miss that fresh and more defined lookÂ
WHY IS MY PERMANENT MAKE UP FADING?
Fading is completely normal.Your pigment can fade faster because of:
• Sun & UV exposure
• Natural skin renewal
• Active skincare products
• Facials, peels & exfoliation
• Lifestyle
• Medication
• Skin type
• Your individual pigment retention
Permanent makeup is designed to soften gradually over time.
SO WHEN SHOULD YOU BOOK A REFRESH?Â
If you still love your brows —you don’t need it yet.Â
You don't need to refresh your Permanent make up just because a certain amount of time has passed. I always send 12 -18 months reminders to my clients so they can assess the need individually!
BUT if it’s been 12-24 months and you want:
🤎 More definition
🤎 A little more colour
🤎 A more even appearance
🤎 Sharper, more visible tails on brows or more definition on lips
🤎 To spend less time filling them in again - then it may be time to book in a colour booster!Â
NOT SURE? LET ME CHECK THEM FOR YOU
Take a clear photo of your brows in natural daylight, without makeup and send it to me.
I can check:
âś“ How much pigment you still have
âś“ How evenly your brows or lips have faded
âś“ Whether the shape still looks balanced
✓ Whether I would recommend a colour boost yet (and as majority of you know - I will honestly advise and never suggest one if you don’t need it yet)
